Foot bath salts are one of the essential ingredients used for toning up the skin of your feet as well as protect it from getting infected. These salts are particularly helpful in regulating excessive perspiration of the feet. Foot bath salts that are formulated with natural essences and plant extracts can be very effective in pedicure care. Some of the common ingredients that enhance the formulation foot bath salts include mint, pine oil, silica, eucalyptus, sea salt and rosemary. These ingredients help in controlling feet odor at the same time. For using foot bath salts follow the directions below:
- Dissolve a cup of the salt into a container with approximately 5 to 10 liters of water with the temperature around 36 to 38°C.
- Soak your feet in the warm water for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Once your feet are relaxed remove and dry them well.
Foot Scrubs
Foot scrubs are typically used for exfoliating dead skin from the feet and rejuvenating tired feet. Apart from the cosmetic foot scrubs available in the market you can use home made combinations to scrub off the hard and dry skin. Before using foot scrub it is important to soak your feet in a mixture of warm water, a cup of sea salt, two slices of lime, mint leaves and 5 to 6 drops of essential oil such as eucalyptus, lime or pine. Alternatively you may also use foot bath salts to mix them in water and soak your feet for 5 to 10 minutes.For preparing the scrub you may mix 1/4th cup of ground oatmeal, 1/4th cup of cornmeal, fresh chopped mint leaves and a tablespoon of table or sea salt. Add the combination of all these ingredients with water to make a smooth paste and gently rub it on your rough and calloused feet. Do not forget to add a few drops of essential oil to the paste. You can use the scrub daily or as and when needed according to your feet condition.
